PALLAS TEXTILES’ COMMON GROUND COLLECTION EARNS TOP HONORS AT INTERIOR DESIGN’S 2007 BEST OF YEAR AWARDS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nov. 30, 2007

GREEN BAY, WIS. – Pallas Textiles’ Common Ground collection won a Best of Year Award from Interior Design magazine last night.

Presented at a ceremony at the TheTimesCenter in New York City, the Best of Year Awards honor superior interior design products as voted on by design professionals. Pallas Textiles, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KI, earned the top award for its Common Ground collection in the Health Care: Soft Goods category. KI’s LaResta® day bed was among the four finalists in the Health Care: Furniture/Seating category.

“We’re thrilled that the industry has recognized Common Ground as one of this year’s best products,” said David White, vice president and general manager, Pallas Textiles. “The fact that both the Common Ground collection and LaResta Day Bed were chosen as finalists in this prestigious design competition reflects their success as products that are innovative, functional and aesthetically pleasing.”

Pallas Textiles’ Common Ground collection, designed by Lucy Aiken-Johnson, was developed with three consistent design qualities in mind: emotional response, richness of materials and timeless designs of patterns. The four nature-inspired patterns of Common Ground create a warmer, welcoming environment. The collection creates a tie back to earth with each pattern named after one of Mother Nature’s Creatures: Holy Cow, Turtle Neck, Work Horse, and Busy Bee.

The LaResta® day bed represents an ideal solution to the heightened demand for guest sleepover accommodations in patient rooms. An attractive sofa by day, LaResta comfortably seats four adults. By night, its intuitive design makes conversion from a sofa to an inviting 34” x 75” sleep surface smooth and simple. The day bed also offers generous storage space for personal items and bedding that can be discreetly tucked away in elegantly paneled drawers or side storage. Custom options include extensive variations on dimensions and multiple design styles to suit a range of hospitals interiors. LaResta® day bed earned a Nightingale Award in November 2006 at Healthcare Design.
